FEAR OF ALLAH

       WHAT SHOULD THE FEAR OF ALLAH BE LIKE ?

              The fear of Allah is like the fear of a crazed lover who refrains from displeasing Allah, who fears to be deprived of Allah’s consent. A lover refrains from displeasing the beloved because he fears that this will destroy their love: this is what the fear of Allah is like. There is no other meaning in this. He may go to Hell and burn in its fire but what in fact makes him uncomfortable is his inability to express his love for Allah. So, this is how Allah tells the lover what the lover needs.
               If a person has a deep fear of Allah, he will be very meticulous to obey His commands; he will love Him and behaves very respectfully. For example, he will not be self-centered or selfish, but compassionate and caring. He will not give rein to his lower-self or seek his own ends, but he will be forgiving; he will fear Allah and be forgiving to others. For instance forgiveness is a force that fosters love, compassion is a force that fosters love. For the sake of Allah’s approval you take care of your beloved, take pains about what he eats and drinks and about the exercises that person should do. This is all a manifestation of one’s love for Allah. But the person who does not fear Allah becomes self-centered, selfish thinking only of himself; he becomes unforgiving and reacts harshly when his own interests are at stake. For instance such person would be skeptical , unaltruistic; he would be not generous and would not be able to put his life for Allah when he should. That is to say, lots of negative attitudes piles up on him. But in the case of fear of Allah, every sort of goodnesscomes upon him; that is to say every sort of goodness that ensure love and beauty fit perfectly on fear of Allah.

   …if a person has lots of faith and fears Allah, he doesn’t even feel sleepy because of the joy he experiences. I mean he bursts with joy: the joy of Paradise, the joy of knowing that moral values of Islam will prevail the world, the joy of seeing that the words of blessed people come true, the joy of good morals, there are so many joys to experience, the joy of the blessings given by Allah. But above all else, there is the joy of Allah’s existence, I mean we all are under the control of His endless power. That is such a great blessing, praise be to Allah! Let people experience these joys. Of course, as a result of this, such a person becomes lively vivacious but this is not the purpose. That is a blessing of Allah upon us for having done such beautiful deeds.

 WHY DO MUSLIMS FEAR ALLAH?

Fearing Allah gives us passion, love and affection. I mean, the fear of Allah constitutes the whole foundation of love. For instance it ensures us to be honest, it prevents us telling lies, it makes us trustworthy,faithful and it makes us amenable to tribulation. These are the roots of passion and love which both grow from this root. Love cannot grow on a foundation in which good morals do not exist. Affection cannot develop.

THE TRAITS THE FEAR OF ALLAH BRING ABOUT IN MUSLIMS

Yes. The fear of Allah is the most important force that directs our activities and all our characteristics with regard to having good morals. For instance without the fear of Allah, a person may not feel the need to be patient or be able to endure hardship. He may not forgive. That is to say, he may not use his will in many instances. He may say, Allah will forgive me anyways. This rationale is also stated in the Qur’an as you know; he may say, “In any case I will go to Heaven”. But with the fear of Allah, everything is brought under control. For example, he may not wake up for the morning prayers, or fast, or sacrifice himself for his loved ones...These are the foundation of zeal, love and passion; without them all of these (concepts) are demolished. That person becomes utterly empty. With the fear of Allah, a person develops wonderful details. That is to say, he gains traits like assiduity and honesty. With the fear of Allah, for instance, a person tells the truth. Without the fear of Allah, a person may easily tell lies for his own gain.

IT IS HARAM (UNLAWFUL) TO FEAR ANYTHING ELSE APART FROM ALLAH

          I only fear Allah. To fear anything or anyone else besides Him is unlawful anyways. Allah forbids this in the Qur’an saying, ‘Fear only me’. That is illogical in any case; the beings created by Allah are created to be the manifestations of Allah. So, since there is nothing, no one else to fear apart from Allah, why should I fear human beings?

ONLY THOSE WITH KNOWLEDGE FEAR ALLAH AS HE OUGHT TO BE FEARED.

                Take shelter in Allah from satan, Almighty Allah says, “Only those of His slaves with knowledge have fear of Allah.” That is the ones with knowledge. When one is ignorant, he wanders around eating meatball sandwiches, vacantly wiping his nose with the back of his hand and strolls around looking with empty eyes, tripping on stones. You see many of these people on streets. Their heads are entirely empty. They do not care about the establishment of Turkish-Islam Union or anything else for that matter. They only know to call out “hey man, give me some from those” and have it placed in their sandwiches and walk around in the streets bumping into one another. There are many such people around. However Allah does not create them to live like this. He didn’t create so many wonders for no reason. Take the atom, for instance; it is such a universe that one can talk about it for months without exhausting the subject; it is founded on such a magnificent mathematical order.
CHILDREN MUST BE BROUGHT UP WITH THE FEAR AND LOVE OF ALLAH.

HOW IS FEAR OF ALLAH INCREASES?

       The fear of Allah does not develop without rhyme and reason. There are causes for its development: for instance being generous helping the poor are things that help increasing the fear of Allah. Postponing a poor person’s debt or clearing it off competely are singled out in the Qur’an as a moral quality. If these are done, and the Qur’an is read and the depths of the Qur’an is comprehended, people’s trust in Allah will develop. Trust in Allah brings blessings and inner peace. For example, trees put their trusts in Allah; He gives them sustenance where they are; while wolves and foxes do not have this trust in Allah and so they always wander in the mountains in hunger; they go for days without food because they are greedy. Not putting trust in Allah does not befit a human being; a human being should submit to Allah, recognize that his sustenance comes from Allah and banish this panic and stress completely from his mind.

THE PROPHET JONAH’S (AS) TEST AND THE FEAR OF ALLAH

     There is a very important proof to show us how useful the fear of Allah is for us. Look at one shock after another: the sea and the skies grow dark; men drew the lots and the lot fell to him, his being thrown into the sea,and there is the fish swallowing him, and he stays in the darkness. He experienced great excitement and tension. As a result of these, he changes a lot. That is how the fear of Allah brings a person to an important, conceivable line. The Qur’an gives a sign of this, it explains this

THINKING ABOUT DEATH INCREASES THE FEAR OF ALLAH.

     Death is a great blessing. It is, we hope, a door opening to the Heaven, for humans to attain Allah, insha’Allah for the believers. And it is a clear proof that destroys desire for this world. Death is one of the first amongst the reasons which discipline us and is one of the most important causes for composing a good morale. Death deeply affects us, it deeply effects all the humans . And the fear from Hell, that is the fear of Allah. When these are present, a person becomes kinder, more compassionate, merciful; he becomes more intelligent, tender, agreeable and easy-going. And this is the foundation and root of a good moral life. For this reason, we regard death as a means to draw us close to Allah, and as a means to Heaven. And in this way, we know that it is a blessing, insha’Allah

THE TRUE SOURCE OF PEACE AND HAPPINESS IS THE FEAR AND LOVE OF ALLAH

       Happiness comes from the love and fear of Allah. Without this the human heart cannot find peace. Allah has made this clear. (In the Qur’an), I take shelter in Allah from satan, Allah states that “hearts find peace only in the remembrance of Allah.”A person cannot be happy in any other way.

RESIGNATION TO DESTINY

A very important secret underlies the testing that takes place in the world. Believers who possess this secret confront everything that befalls them with great patience, joy and enthusiasm. The fact of “destiny” lies at the heart of this secret. Muslims know that Allah has created all things within destiny and that what befalls them does so solely because He so wishes. It is Allah Who creates people’s lives, right down to the finest detail. Sura al-An‘am describes how everything, great or small, that happens on Earth occurs because Allah wishes it to:
The keys of the Unseen are in His possession. No one knows them but Him. He knows everything in the land and sea. No leaf falls without His knowing it. There is no seed in the darkness of the earth, and nothing moist or dry which is not in a Clear Book. (Surat al-An’am59)

Human beings are entities who live constrained by time and by looking at events solely from the current moment. And since people do not know the future they may not always be able to see the long-term wisdom, beauty and goodness in events. Allah, however, Who is unfettered by time and its Creator, sees and knows the lives of all entities from “outside time.” It is the fact of destiny that confronts us at this point. Destiny is Allah’s knowledge of all events, past and future, as one single moment. In other words, events the outcome of which is unclear are all “mysteries” for us. But Allah knows all these things that we cannot.

Therefore, the testing of human beings is one whose beginning and end are pre-ordained. The past, future and present are all one in the sight of Allah; all are already over and done with. We can only learn about them by experiencing them when the time comes.

This “knowledge of destiny” is great knowledge not granted to unbelievers. It is by means of this knowledge that Muslims are able to display such splendid fortitude in the face of all difficulties and tests in the life of this world. As revealed in the verse “No kind of calamity occurs except by Allah’s permission. Whoever believes in Allah – He will guide his heart. Allah has knowledge of all things…” (Sura at-Taghabun, 11) believers enjoy the ease and comfort of knowing that everything befalling them is destined to do so.

As a great blessing, Allah has created the testing of believers to be very easy. But this ease only applies to genuine believers who resign themselves to destiny. A Muslim who truly believes and who sincerely submits himself to Allah watches the constant change of images before him with excitement, thanks and gratitude. Someone sitting in a chair and watching a film in comfort also watches the destiny appointed for him with trust and joy. All the images of that destiny, that are sometimes highly active, sometimes frightening, sometimes appeal to the physical senses and are sometimes very calm, contain the joy and excitement of faith. Frightening images have been specially prepared. They have been planned right down to the finest detail. But at the end of the day they are all within the knowledge and under the control of Allah.

A Muslim aware of the fact of destiny and who grasps this secret of the test, regards all difficulty, hunger or poverty, as positive things and takes great pleasure from them. Because he knows that that the moral values he displays in the face of this test are very valuable in the sight of Allah. This is a pleasure unique to believers. Muslims never suffer such feelings as worry, stress, pain, panic or fear in the face of such woes. Because Muslims know that Allah will make all events that appear to be evil or unwelcome turn out well in the end. In one verse, Allah tells believers that “Allah will not give the unbelievers any way against the believers.” (Surat an-Nisa, 141)

However, there is a point here that must not be misunderstood; believers may encounter all kinds of trouble and difficulty in this world, they may lose their worldly goods, grow physically weak, fall ill or be injured, die or be killed. However, none of these are “evils” for Muslims. Allah tests His servants by means of these and recompenses the fortitude they display many time over in this world and the next. And as a result of the testing in this world, Muslims are finally rewarded with the eternal life of the Hereafter.

Aware of this important truth, Muslims therefore feel great joy in the face of difficulty. This joy experienced by believers is also a special condition that neutralises the traps set by the unbelievers and denies them success. When unbelievers see that joy and enthusiasm at times when they imagine they have made things difficult for believers they realise they can never do them any harm. Muslims’ words at times of trouble also reveal to the unbelievers their fortitude and submission. The words of believers faced by difficulties are reported in the following terms in the Qur’an:

And why indeed should we not put our trust in Allah when He has guided us to our ways? We will be steadfast however much you harm us. Those who trust put their trust in Allah.’Those who were kafir said to their Messengers, ‘We will drive you from our land unless you return to our religion.’ Their Lord revealed to them, ‘We will destroy those who do wrong.We will leave you the land to live in after them. That is the reward of those who fear My station and fear My threat.’(Surah Ibrahim,12-14)

Say: ‘Nothing can happen to us except what Allah has ordained for us. He is Our Master. It is in Allah that the muminun should put their trust.’(Surat at-Tawba,51)

There is no doubt that all these things are the results of their submission to the destiny created by Allah. Nobody who places his trust and faith in Allah will ever suffer any fear or distress again:

Those who say, ‘Our Lord is Allah,’ and then go straight will feel no fear and will know no sorrow. (Surat al-Ahqaf,13)

Not so! All who submit themselves completely to Allah and are good-doers will find their reward with their Lord. They will feel no fear and will know no sorrow. (Surat Al-Baqara,112)

Yes, the friends of Allah will feel no fear and will know no sorrow:

those who have iman and show taqwa, there is good news for them in the life of the dunya and in the akhira. There is no changing the words of Allah. That is the great victory! (Surah Yunus,62-64)

In other verses Allah reveals that servants who believe in and surrender themselves to Him are bound to a bough that will never break:

Those who submit themselves completely to Allah and do good have grasped the Firmest Handhold. The end result of all affairs is with Allah. (Surah Luqman, 22)

There is no compulsion where the deen is concerned. Right guidance has become clearly distinct from error. Anyone who rejects false gods and has iman in Allah has grasped the Firmest Handhold, which will never give way. Allah is All-Hearing, All-Knowing. (Surat Al-Baqara, 256)

:::::::::The Only Way:::::

 Standing amid so many roads
How would i know , which one goes
 Where I want to be ? who knows

   Am i a child lost and insecure
 Crying for something more and more
But settles for a toy when feels unsure

Or am i a child who would hold
 Fingers of a stranger when he is told
With a hope to get something many folds

   Let's grow up and stop kidding around
    We want more than a child has found
And stop giving our fate to the surround

   See dry leaves fall with a swift blow
and are crushed under feet wherever they go
 Same happened to those who didn't know

   Hopes and dreams are not to throw
 Sowing the seed let you move n' flow
Learning from mistakes helps you grow

   See those who fool around and even try
Standing on unethical grounds touching the sky
 For a little while somehow they manage to fly

Soon the earth moves under their feet before they realize
They end-up then paying a heavy price
To succeed they needed to go otherwise

   Let's not get confused or be betrayed
Choose the right over wrong and not sway
 And save our lives from going astray

For that, there is one and the ONLY WAY
  Though less travelled by till today
Because it seeks for effort , not only prays

It is the path of those who have a faith
A road tested even, days after days
A place where success is found and it stays

   Those who have deny and turn it away
 Soon will find that was the only way
Such happened to those who perished away

ALLAH,  is the path of those who believe
And non-believers will have no way , indeed
  They understand not and pay no heed

Those who are lucky enough to stay
Can change their lives without a delayy
And create a life worth living, for alwayss

Oh, my Lord, choose me to be a "Peace Maker" and grant me everything it takes to make the difference in the lives of people.
For it is in giving that we receive; and it is in forgiving that we are forgiven; and it is in dying that we live forever.

Women's Veiling In Islam

Imam Abu-Hanifa (Rahmatullah alaih)- the face and palms is excluded from hijaab but the condition is there should be no fear of fitna. The Hanafi Jurists have said due to the immorality of times and weakness of resistance, it is compulsory for a female to cover her face which is the focus of her beauty.
Imam Shaf’ie, Imam Malik and Imam Ahmed (Rahmatullah alaih) –It is not permissible for a lady to expose her face and palms whether there is danger of fitna or not.
Veil is legitimately defined as the dress that covers the whole body of the woman including her head, face, hands and feet. It should be long, loose and plain not defining her shape. Veil has been prescribed for women to block the road to sin. In short, veiling is a source of covering the face, hands, feet and other parts of the body. Allah Ta’ala states, ‘And they should draw their veils over their bosoms.’ (24:31)
‘O Prophet! Tell your wives and your daughters and the women of the believers to draw their cloaks (veils) all over their bodies (except eyes to see the way). That will be better, that they should be known (as free respectable women) so as not to be annoyed.’ (33:59)
The Purpose of Veiling
The purpose of veiling is to safeguard woman from the biased looks of men and provide her a pure atmosphere at home so that she can perform her household duties properly and contribute to improve the whole society as Allah states, ‘And stay in your houses, and do not display yourselves like that of the former times of ignorance.’ (33:33)
History shows that the children, who were brought up by their mothers in observance of the social values and religious obligations, later became the leaders of the nation. They admitted that the credit of their booming career goes to their mothers who bestowed on them the qualities of sincerity, faithfulness, honesty, self-reliance and social service; and encouraged them to continue their education. Veiling gives an esteemed position to woman and protects her from sexual harassment by people. On the other hand, a woman, who displays her beauty and wears tight, short and transparent clothes, attracts men towards her. Consequently, they try to exploit her sexually using all possible techniques. Sometimes, woman also becomes weak and surrenders herself to the lust of men. Veiling provides security to woman and promotes a pure atmosphere in the society. But those who consider themselves as modern people consider it a disgrace and construe it as shackles for the woman. In comparison to the right and wrong, this world and the hereafter, paradise and hell, the observance of veiling is much smaller than that.
The rationale of veiling
Woman is Allah’s beautiful creation. On one hand, she satisfies man’s sexual desires and on the other hand, she plays a significant role in the growth of the human generations. No doubt, woman has a great attraction for a man. Due to this attraction, it is feared he will indulge in sins. Therefore, Allah has forbidden man strictly from fornication and adultery. He has also forbidden woman from exhibiting her charm. Regarding make-up and perfume, it is permissible for woman to wear them in front of her husband and closely related members of the family as Allah states, ‘They will not reveal their adornment except to their husband or their fathers, or their husband’s fathers, or their sons, or their husband’s sons, or their brothers or their brother’s sons, or their sister’s sons, or their (Muslim) women.’ (24:31)
The first verse regarding veil was revealed in al-Madina when Umar ibn al-Khattaab admonished the prophet’s wife, Sawdah bint Zam’ah, while going outside without a veil. Allah Ta’ala states, ‘O Prophet! Tell your wives and your daughters and the women of the believers to draw their cloaks (veils) all over their bodies (except eyes to see the way). That will be better, that they should be known (as free respectable women) so as not to be annoyed.’ (33:59)
Generally, the veiling covers the whole body including head, face, hair, bosom, hands and feet. But in the absence of men it is permissible for woman to uncover her face as narrated by Aaisha [Radhiallaahu anha], ‘Some riders passed by us while we were with Allah’s Messenger [Sallallaahu Alayhi Wasallam] in the state of ritual consecration. When they came face to face, one of us let down her cloak (veil) from her head on her face and when they preceded us, we uncovered it.’ (Abu Dawud)
The Advantages of Veiling
The veiling system contains a number of advantages particularly in a society where the rape, sexual molestation and disrespect of woman are very common. Some of them are listed below:
1. Veiling is a protection for Muslim woman against the behaviour of the wicked;
2. It is an identify of the Muslim that distinguishes her;
3. It gives her an honoured position in the society;
4. It acts as a barrier between men and women to keep them away from sins;
5. It is a means for observing chastity of woman;
6. It awakens the fear of Allah in the heart of man and woman and saves them from falling in the abyss of evil;
7. It teaches man to respect the veiled woman, provide her protection from the curious persons and ensure the uplift of the high morals and social values in the society.
The Disadvantages of Unveiling
Due to mixing up with the non-Muslims, particularly, in the countries where the Muslims are in minority, the practice of unveiling has become a regular feature. But it is very harmful for the Muslim society. Unveiling has a number of disadvantages. Out of them, some are as follows:
1. It is a violation of the Qur’aan and Hadith;
2. It shows woman’s weakness in belief;
3. It is a cause of temptation for men and women;
4. It strips off her modesty that is an integral part of Faith as the Prophet [Sallallaahu Alayhi Wasallam] said, ‘Modesty is part of Faith.’ (al-Bukhari)
5. It subjects her to sexual harassment;
6. It hurts her dignity and feelings and it stains her chastity;
7. It prompts woman to take part in commercial advertisements and films as a showpiece and a source of enjoyment for the viewers.
Recommendations
Here are some recommendations that must be adhered to by a veiled woman when going out. They are as follows:
Veiling is the tradition of Muslim women. Since its prescription, the prophet’s wives, daughters and other believing Muslim women have strictly observed it. Today also, the Muslim ladies must keep it up. The veiled woman must understand the rationale of veiling and fulfill its requirements.
She must avoid wearing perfume and showing her finery in any way.
She must not be encouraging while dealing with men at the time of need.
She must be harsh in voice and avoid speaking softly, because it can be misconstrued as an invitation to strangers.
She must not stamp her feet letting her anklets tinkle or any other action that calls attention towards her.
She must be careful and reserved in her motions and even in looks while walking outside.
The women who display their beauty are often subjected to sexual exploitation by immoral people.
It is a fact that the life of the world is nothing but superficiality while the actual life is the life if the Hereafter where everyone will be rewarded for their deeds. The righteous will enjoy Allah’s pleasure. All blessings will be at their disposal. While the sinners and transgressors will be doomed to punishment that cannot be imagined. The evidence from the Qur’aan and Hadith confirm that Allah’s punishment will be severe.
Therefore, it is incumbent upon them to be chaste and veiling is a must for woman. However, she can uncover her face in the presence of the people who are closely related to her. She can freely move in front of the men in her common dress that has prescribed in the pleasure and comfort of her home.
It is the face from which the brands of beauty gush forth, passions are stirred up and the lusts are excited. The woman is bound to veil her hair, face, bosom, palms and feet according to the teachings of Islam.
As a matter of fact, the charm of woman is incorporated in her personality and dress. So, Allah has ordered woman to draw cloaks and hide her beauty from the strangers and distant relatives.
